Jessica Padula MS, CCC-SLP

Jessica is the Director and Owner of Speech & Language Specialties. Jessica has been practicing as a speech-language pathologist since 2003. Jessica founded SLS in 2006. Prior to graduate school Jessica worked as a Behavior Therapist specializing in Applied Behavior Analysis and Verbal Behavior while working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She has been fortunate to work with children and families in a variety of settings including early intervention centers, public and private schools, home therapy and private practices serving children to adults. Following her professional passion, Jessica specializes in the area of Social Communication. She thrives on learning and developing functional and creative intervention tools and programs to support her clients, and enjoys collaborating with other professionals and parents. Outside of work she enjoys, reading, cooking and spending time with her family. She lives with her husband and two daughters, who continually teach her new life lessons and keep her smiling.

 

Stasia Behmer MA CCC-SLP/ BCBA

Stasia earned her Master's degree in Communication Disorders from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 2013. In 2014, she completed a graduate certificate program at UMass Boston in the area of Applied Behavior Analysis and obtained certification as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Stasia currently works as a speech-language pathologist part time at SLS and full time in a local public school district. She has a strong interest in working with children with autism spectrum disorders. In her free time, Stasia enjoys sewing, knitting, and hiking with her husband and her puppy. 

 

Christina Bruneau, B.S., SLPA

Christina received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Worcester State University. She has a background in Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) working for several years as a lead therapist for children on the autism spectrum. As an SLPA with Speech and Language Specialties for the past seven years, Christina has worked with preschool, elementary, middle and high school children ranging from moderate to severe disabilities. She has developed and provided therapy social language groups for children with social cognitive deficits. She utilizes the effective teachings of Michelle Garcia Winner's Social Thinking® philosophy with children and their families. Christina is excited to be part of this new and growing field. She has focused most of her career on social cognitive and self-regulation intervention. In her spare time, Christina enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking and photography.

 

Kristina Catacchio MS, CCC-SLP

Kristina earned her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Worcester State College in 2011. She is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) and the Massachusetts Speech-Language Hearing Association.  Kristina has a strong passion for working with children. Currently, she works part-time at SLS, as she is a full-time speech-language pathologist in a public school district.  Through her clinical and professional experiences, Kristina has provided treatment and services for preschool, elementary, middle, high-school, and post high-school (transitional) children with a variety of disabilities ranging from mild to moderate severities. Becoming part of the SLS team has increased Kristina’s interest in social communication.  She now co-treats social language groups for children with social cognitive deficits, utilizing the effective teachings of Michelle Garcia Winner’s Social Thinking® philosophy.  Kristina wants to continue to increase her knowledge with Social Thinking and executive functions, as this is an area of high interest for her.  Kristina believes that every child is an individual and that it is important to emphasize the person, not the disability.  Kristina enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, cooking, and exercising. 

 

Andrea Lussier MS, CCC-SLP

Andrea earned her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from Worcester State College and an undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education.   She is a certified member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).  Andrea has experience working in the public schools where she provided therapy to preschool, elementary, middle and high school students with a variety of disabilities and level of severities.  She works part time for SLS.  Andrea has a passion for working with children with communication difficulties and continues to increase her scope of knowledge in the area of speech and language therapy.  Andrea enjoys spending time with family, friends, cooking, hiking, biking, and snow skiing.    

 

Molly Green McCullough, B.A.

Verbal Behavior Specialist

 

Molly received her Bachelors' Degree in Psychology from Clark University. Molly has been working with individual with disabilities since 1993. During the past 23 years, Molly has been privileged to work with children in Early Intervention, elementary aged children, teenagers, and adults and has experience with those with moderate to severe levels of need. She has provided services to individuals and families in a wide variety of settings including residential facilities, public school districts, private school setting , clinics and home based services. Molly has studied and practiced Verbal Behavior (VB) methodology since the late 1990's and enjoys helping others learn to sue the tools VB offers, to become better communicators and improve social interactions. Molly believes that every person is capable of communicating effectively and each of us deserves a happy and meaningful life. When not working, Molly enjoys pursuing her education, making music, and spending time with her awesome family.

 

Emily Palmerino M.S., CCC-SLP

Emily earned her Master's degree in Communication Sciences/Speech-Language Pathology from CUNY Hunter College in New York City in 2011.  She is a certified member of the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association (ASHA).  She worked in a pediatric clinic in San Francisco for three years before taking a year to live abroad in Australia to live in a community with adults with disabilities through an amazing program called L'Arche.  It is clear that she has a strong passion for working closely with people of all ages and all abilities.  Emily is happy to be back in her home town to share her passions with Speech and Language Specialties.  Through her clinical and professional experiences, Emily has provided intervention for children and adults of all ages, with significant experience in expressive and receptive language, articulation and phonology, fluency, and social/pragmatic language disorders as well as apraxia of speech and autism spectrum disorder.  She is PROMPT trained to aid in work with children who suffer from speech motor planning difficulties as well as trained in the Lidcombe program to provide intervention for children who stutter under six years of age.  Becoming part of the SLS team has increased Emily's interest in social communication and executive functioning.  She now co-treats social language groups for children with social cognitive deficits, utilizing the effective teachings of Michelle Garcia Winner’s Social Thinking® philosophy.  She appreciates the importance of executive functioning and social communication skills in every child's daily life and loves the idea of being able to support children in these areas.  In her spare time, Emily is always singing, plays guitar, travels, and spends time with friends and family. 

 

Barbara Poch MS, LABA, SLPA

Barbara earned her Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Worcester State University. She earned her Master’s degree in Behavior Analysis from Simmons College. Barbara has over 15 years’ experience working with children on the Autism Spectrum as well as children and adolescents with a variety of disabilities ranging from ADHD, Dyslexia, ODD, and emotional and cognitive deficits. She also volunteers her services for children and families of domestic violence. Barbara’s core belief is that by making oneself available to those who need a different perspective improves the inner-connectiveness of the human condition.

In her spare time, Barbara enjoys playing the guitar, journaling and writing, yoga, mindfulness meditation, hiking, and spending time with family and friends. 

 

Meagan Vasey BA., SLPA

Meagan received her Bachelors Degree from Arizona State University in Psychology. Following graduation she spent two and a half years working as an Early Interventionist in Arizona. Meagan then transitioned into the position of a Case Manager where she coordinated behavioral health services for children ages birth-18 years old. Throughout her career, Meagan has provided services to preschool, elementary, middle school and high school children. Her passion is working with children, which brought her to New England in 2016. She is currently earning her masters degree in Speech and Language Pathology at Worcester State University. In her free time, Meagan enjoys spending time with friends and family, exploring New England and practicing yoga.

Kristen received her Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Science and Disorders from Worcester State University.  She has worked in the Public School System providing therapy and support to students of all ages, preschool through high school for 15 years.   Kristen joined Speech & Language Specialties in the fall of 2013.  She has experience working with children with a variety of populations and developmental disabilities.  When not working, Kristen enjoys time with her two children, gardening and entertaining with her friends.
